Design of Email Alerts for Relevant, Actionable, and Timely Campaign Performance Updates

Email Alerts deliver timely updates on campaign performance directly to customers’ inboxes. They can select which alerts to receive, from budget thresholds to campaign performance milestones, ensuring that only relevant updates are sent. Clean layouts and concise messaging make each alert easy to scan and act on.

The Challenge

Before Email Alerts, users had to log in regularly to spot performance shifts, which posed challenges:

  • Delays in reacting to negative trends or missed opportunities.

  • Higher cognitive load for advertisers managing multiple accounts.

  • Lack of a proactive communication channel to surface important changes.

The challenge: Create an alert system that was:

  • Timely enough to be relevant.

  • Customizable so users received only what mattered to them.

  • Readable in email format without overwhelming the recipient.

My Role & Responsibilities

As the sole UX/UI designer, I:

  • Defined alert content hierarchy to ensure critical information was always prioritized.

  • Designed modular email templates that scaled for different alert types and lengths.

  • Created a customization UI within Adspert for users to set preferences.
